Whatever the state of the economy, it does not seem to be in great shape. What will it take to strengthen the socio-economic climate? It will take people who are empowered to take action and are not afraid to fail. Complaining has not proven to be an effective tactic in the past and probably won’t in the future. We need solutions, many of them, and we need to collaborate. The life of the economy is dependent on human potential. It will take hard work to create change and this is where leaders are born. We live in a very exciting time.
One area to consider is business startups. The market is abundant with needs and opportunities waiting to be tapped. Entrepreneurs look for these opportunities to create value and when their solution fits the right business model, the company grows and new jobs are created over time. The entrepreneurial spirit is a crown jewel of any city because it generates power and energy to stimulate growth.
Now passion and determination of the entrepreneur are great and everything, but startups need capital to grow. This is why I have turned my attention to corporate investors to learn how they connect with startups, what they look for when deciding to invest in a company, and what qualitative and quantitative measures they look for to guide success. My goal is to partner with investors who value talent development and cultural integrity because the edge for any business is human potential.
