The sensible world is a living consciousness with many different rhythms and layers of communication that shape it. The way we feel here and now is an expression of the whole, so to deny any aspect of the experience compromises the greater part of who we are. Sometimes we may disassociate from our shadowy parts because of some unconscious pain that seeks to be heard and felt. By simply being with the emotions that are revealed, without judgment, opens us to new visions and perspectives, new rhythms of being and communication.
The goal is not to finalize some conclusive set of beliefs in order to achieve peace and acceptance, but to eagerly ride the waves that emerge from the ocean of our inner being. There is thrill and vulnerability that arises when surrendering to the ocean, and the treasure is the immediate sensory experience of riding the surf. Sometimes we’ll catch a really good wave, other times it’ll kick our butt, but the thrill and vulnerability remains. Be with it.
The unconscious is an innate part of the creative process and the work is not to hold fixed to past patterns of miscommunication and discontent, but to deliberately engage the unknown with certainty that what you feel right now stores the gift of inner-knowing and self-realization.
